Sunshine Quilt Company,
Jo West
My passion for sewing started when I was 12 years old when I took a Singer sewing class with my sister. At that point, my sewing efforts produced only clothes for myself and doll clothes. My quilting journey began in 1974 with a Sampler class.
From there I taught classes as well as owned my own quilt store. When my son was born in 1977, quilting took a back seat for 28 years while I raised my two children and experienced other adventures in life. I knew I would return to quilting at some point. In 2005, I moved to Washington and discovered a rich quilting culture. My passion for quilting returned with a bang.
Looking into a career change in 2007, I decided to leap into the longarm quilting business and I purchased a Gammill. I decided to bring back the original name of my store in the 70’s, thus the Sunshine Quilt Company was re-born. The focus of my longarm business is edge-to-edge free motion and pantograph designs. It is my personal goal to turn my customer quilts around in two weeks.
To help satisfy my hunger for creative outlets, I design, piece and quilt custom quilts of all types and sizes. In addition, I create beautiful “Memory Quilts”. These quilts preserve wonderful family memories using fabric transfer sheets, making the photos seem quite real.
I welcome new customers. Please call or email for current prices.
